Welcome to Pink Ladders ™
Pink Ladders is symbolic of the steps women take in their careers. Women that climb “pink ladders” come from all walks of life regardless of race, age, socioeconomic status or education. They may already have successful careers or may be starting their journey.
Several circumstances such as level of education, advancement opportunities or simply being the right person in the right place at the right time will impact the number of steps on the ladder one will climb throughout their career. Oh, and let’s not forget about dedication, hard work, ambition and persistence either.
Some women focus on a career immediately following high school by earning a college degree while others move directly into the workforce. As for me, I started a family as a young woman deferring college and career to my later years. I married young and immediately had three children, so college and career was not a priority for me, initially. Once my children were in school, I was able to start college part time and work part time. Eventually, I graduated with my Bachelor’s in Business Administration and later went back to school to complete my Masters (MBA) in Healthcare Management.
This website is designed and created out of my desire to encourage women to climb their career ladder; a place that women can find inspiration and motivation to achieve their career goals. I am proof that someone who started late in life and didn’t believe was smart enough to get a Bachelor’s degree let alone a Master’s, now holds an officer position in a company. Each of you has talents to share with the world so regardless of where you are in your life today, I hope you will strive towards your own dreams and goals and be a role model for other women including your friends and children.
While it’s important to spend time climbing the pink ladder, it is equally as important to take time to enjoy family and friends including giving back to the community. This site provides suggestions on how you can be a successful woman in business and still spend quality time with loved ones and support community projects. You will read stories about my own experiences in climbing my pink ladder as well as those that have inspired me through their challenges and celebrations.
Thank you for visiting and I hope you will come back often.
Sincerely,
Angela Newman
