The ladder is symbolic of where a woman is in her career path. I believe women climb different types of ladders throughout their career; a stepstool, a step ladder, an A-frame or an extension ladder. She will leap from one size ladder to the next, one rung at a time until her goals are achieved with each rung bringing her a step closer.
